IB English (Group 1: Studies in Language & Literature)
About Course
IB English is a core subject in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, offered at both Higher Level (HL) and Standard Level (SL). Students can choose between two pathways: English Language & Literature (a blend of literary and non-literary texts) or English Literature (a purely literary focus). These courses introduce students to critical study and interpretation of literary and/or non-literary texts across diverse genres, periods, and cultural contexts. Learners develop deep analytical and communication skills while exploring how texts generate and shift meaning through context and reader interpretation.
