Sonia is an experienced educator with a passion for teaching Biology. She believes in
creating a supportive classroom environment that encourages both academic progress
and personal growth. With over 30 years of teaching experience, including 18 years in
IGCSE and IB Diploma Biology, Sonia brings a depth of knowledge and understanding to
her students.
Sonia focuses on developing subject-specific skills in students to help them cope with
the demands of the IGCSE and IB Biology curriculums. She prepares students for all
components of their examination papers and makes learning engaging by connecting
classroom teaching to real-life experiences. In her lessons, Sonia deconstructs complex
topics within IB Higher Level (HL) Biology into simpler, easy-to-understand components.
She also guides students to understand and effectively execute the assessment criteria
provided by IB for both the Extended Essay and Internal Assessment, while helping
them recognize the key differences between the criterion descriptors for EE and IA.
Sonia approach focuses on developing subject-specific skills while also ensuring
students gain the critical thinking and analytical abilities needed for the 21st century.
